The Toronto Police arrested a man and seized a weapon, drugs and $40,000 cash during a drug investigation.
On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, investigators commenced an assault investigation and arrested Faiaz Ahmed, 28, of Mississauga, the Toronto Police said in a statement..
The investigators also executed a search warrant on a vehicle and located a hidden trap compartment in the trunk of the vehicle, the Toronto Police said, adding that the officers seized 5 kilograms of fentanyl, 1 kilogram of cocaine, 700 grams of crystal meth, a loaded .40 Cal Glock 22 handgun with an extended magazine, and $40,000 in Canadian currency.
The Toronto Police also added that Ahmed has been charged with four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I Substance, four counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Firearm Knowing Unauthorized, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possess Prohibited Device, Firearm Obtained by Crime, four counts of Assault, and two counts of Forcible Confinement.
He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall today, Friday, June 18, 2021, the Toronto Police added.
