Quebec is reporting closebto 9,400 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and six additional deaths due to the virus in last 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec said the health authorities identified 9,397 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the total cases to 511,095 since the beginning of pandemic.
The ministry in a statement said six additional deaths were also reported since Monday. A total of 11,658 individuals have died of the virus in Quebec since the pandemic started.
The statement further added that 473 individuals are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Quebec, an increase of 28 as compared to Monday.
A total of 96 individuals were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours, while 64 others were discharged.
Currently, 91 people are in Intensive Care Unit due to COVID-19, the ministry said, adding that 15 people were admitted to ICU and 12 others were discharged in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health and Social Services also added that 95,985 doses of COVID-19 vaccine werenadministered, including 89,924 in the last 24 hours and 6,061 before December 22, for a total of 14,619,762 doses administered in Quebec.
Outside Quebec, a total of 246,189 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 14,865,951 doses received by Quebecers.
