Police identify 44-year-old victim of Prince Albert homicide

Police have identified the victim of a homicide that occurred on Saturday in Prince Albert city of Saskatchewan.

The Prince Albert Police issued a press release, stating that “Police have identified Norman Charles Custer, age 44, as the victim of a homicide that occurred on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021, in the 900 Block of 17th Street West.”

Initial calls to Police, Prince Albert Fire Department and Parkland Ambulance were of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, the statement added.

However, the statement added that PAPS Criminal Investigations Division can confirm the victim died as a result of a gunshot wound and there was no evidence the victim was struck by a vehicle.

Without disclosing further information, the Prince Albert Police said “Police continue to investigate and ask that anyone with information about this homicide is asked to contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.”
