Ontario reports over 600 new COVID-19 cases, 6 additional deaths

Ontario is reporting 613 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and six additional deaths due to the virus over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health of Ontario, said 318 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown.

“Individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 24.5% of Ontario‚Äôs total population & amount to 318 of Ontario’s 613 new reported cases. 29 cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status,” she added.

Elliott further added that 282 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, and 134 people are in ICU due to COVID-19.

She also added that 216 non-ICU patients are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 66 are fully vaccinated.

118 patients in Intensice Care Unit are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 16 are fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Elliott, said in Ontario, 22,820,451 vaccine doses have been administered. 89.0% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 86.0% have two doses.
