Ontario reports 865 new COVID-19 cases, 14 additional deaths

The Ontario Health on Thursday reported 865 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 14 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

Confirming the latest numbers, Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said 692 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 173 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

Elliott further added that 20 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, 292 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 28 are fully vaccinated.

Furthermore, Elliott said 162 people are currently being treated in ICU due to COVID-19, with 148 of them not fully vaccinated or having an unknown vaccination status while 14 others are fully vaccinated.

In regards to the vaccinations, Elliott said 20,827,809 vaccine doses of vaccine have been administered.

According to Elliot, nearly 83.2% of Ontarians 12+ have received one dose of the vaccine and nearly 76.6% have received two doses.
