The Ontario Health on Tuesday reported 848 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 48 hours.
Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the Ontario Health identified 390 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, with 260 cases identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.
Elliott further added that the Ontario Health identified the remaining 130 cases in fully vaccinated individuals.
Yesterday there were 458 new cases of COVID-19, Elliott said, adding that 333 cases were in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 125 were in fully vaccinated individuals.
She also added that 155 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 149 people are being treated in Intensive Care Unit.
The Ontario Health also confirmed that they have received reports of 2 additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 48 hours.
