Ontario reports 741 new COVID-19 cases, 3 additional deaths

Ontario is reporting 741 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and three additional deaths due to the virus over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health of Ontario, said 410 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 331 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

Elliott furthernaddednthat 107 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, and 135 people are in ICU due to COVID-19.

However, she said not all hospitals report on weekends.

She also added that out of an abundance of caution, Ontario is pausing the lifting of capacity limits in remaining higher-risk settings as the province continues to monitor public health trends.

Meanwhile, Elliott, said in Ontario, 22,802,867 vaccine doses have been administered. Nearly 89.0% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 85.9% have two doses.
