Ontario reports 577 new COVID-19 cases, 7 additional deaths

The Ontario Health on Tuesday reported that 577 new positive cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been identified across the province in the past 24 hours.

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said 452 of the new cases have been identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

According to Elliott, the remaining 125 cases have been identified in fully vaccinated individuals.

She also added that 363 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. 325 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 38 are fully vaccinated.

She also added that 192 people are in ICU due to COVID-19, including 183 individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and nine are fully vaccinated.

The Ontario Health also confirmed that 7 people have died of the virus in the past 24 hours.
