Ontario reports 554 new COVID-19 cases, 16 additional deaths

The Ontario Health on Wednesday reported 554 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 16 additional deaths.

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, of the 554 new cases, 418 have been identified among the individuals who are fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Elliott further added that the remaining 136 new cases have been identified among the individuals who are fully vaccinated.

She also added that 375 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, including 347 people who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 28 who are fully vaccinated.

According to Elliott, 194 people are in ICU due to COVID-19, including 186 individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 8 fully vaccinated individuals.
