Ontario is reporting 496 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 2 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said 334 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 162 are in fully vaccinated individuals.
Furthermore, Elliot said 265 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. “265 people are hospitalized with COVID19. 228 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 37 are fully vaccinated.”
She also added that 163 people are in Intensive Care Unit due to COVID-19, including 148 people who are not fully vaccinated or having an unknown vaccination status, while 15 are fully vaccinated.
In Ontario, 22,177,830 vaccine doses have been administered, Elliott said, adding that 87.3% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and nearly 82.8% have two doses.
