Ontario reports 3,424 new cases of COVID-19

Ontario is reporting 3,424 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24 hour period.

Provincial health minister, Christine Elliott, said 4,008 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Ontario.

There was an increase of 147 in overall hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

Elliott further added that 55% were admitted to the hospital for COVID-19 and 45% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19.

Currently, 626 people are in Intensive Care Unit with COVID-19.

She also addled that 85% of patients admitted to the ICU were admitted for COVID-19 and 15% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Elliott, said in Ontario, 30,166,800 vaccine doses have been administered.

She also added that 91.7% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose & 89.0% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Monday reported 4,790 new cases of COVID-19 and 36 additional deaths over a 24 hour period.
