Ontario is reporting 3,204 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24 hour period.
The Ontario Health also reported 59 additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
Provincial Health Minister, Christine Elliott, said 2,493 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Ontario.
Elliott further added that 54% were admitted to the hospital for COVID-19 and 46% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19.
She also added that 501 people are in ICU with COVID19. 80% of patients admitted to the ICU were admitted for COVID-19 and 20% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19.
In Ontario, 30,949,011 vaccine doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, Elliott said, adding that 92% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose & 89.4% have two doses.
The Ontario Health on Friday reported 4,047 new cases of COVID-19 and 60 additional deaths over a 24 hour period.
