The Ontario Health on Tuesday announced that 25 additional people have died of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours.
The latest deaths announced by Ontario Health are the highest since June 22 when 60 deaths were reported over a 24-hour period.
Meanwhile, Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health of Ontario, said the province identified 299 new cases of the virus in the past 24 hours, after completing 28,300 tests.
According to Elliott, the Ontario Health identified 130 of the new cases in Toronto, 69 in the Region of Waterloo, 20 in the Peel Region, 11 in Grey Brue, 10 in Durham Region and 10 in Niagara Region.
She also added that the Ontario Health has administered 14,472,741 doses of COVID-19 vaccine as of 9:00 pm on Monday, including 265,231 administered yesterday.
