Ontario reported 1,033 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Sunday and 18 additional deaths.
Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the Ontario Health completed 26,600 tests during the past 24 hours and identified 1,033 positive cases.
“Locally, there are 237 new cases in Toronto, 214 in Peel and 80 in York Region,” she said, adding that 8,984,278 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered as of 8:00 pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Ontario Health reported that 18 people also died of the virus during the same period.
This comes as Ontario on Saturday reported 1,057 cases of the novel coronavirus and 15 deaths over a period of 24 hours.
