The officers have located the body of one of the three missing boaters in Saskatchewan as search is underway to locate the two others.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the officers located the dead body of one of the boaters following the search operation on October 16.
“On October 16, one of the missing males was located deceased in the water. His family has been notified. Our thoughts are with his family members,” RCMP said in a statement.
The statement further added that efforts to locate the other missing male and female continue.
Community volunteers, multiple Saskatchewan RCMP units, the Canadian Rangers and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association are assisting.
The boat they were presumed to be was located on Wollaston Lake on Friday, RCMP said, adding that additional Saskatchewan RCMP resources, as well as a Canadian Forces plane, are were deployed to Wollaston Lake to assist with the search.
