The Calgary Police said the incident took place early on Saturday morning, July 10, 2021, at approximately 3 a.m.
A 28-year-old male pedestrian was in the tunnel to the north of the Victoria Park/Stampede CTrain station when he was struck by a southbound CTrain, the Calgary Police said in a statement.
The statement further added that the pedestrian suffered serious, life-threatening and life-altering injuries.
Calgary Transit Peace Officers came to his aid before Calgary Fire Department and EMS personnel attended, the Calgary Police said, adding that the man was transported to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
According to Calgary Police, alcohol impairment on the part of the pedestrian is considered a factor in this collision.
