COVID-19: Alberta reports 662 new cases and 38 additional deaths

The Alberta Health reported 652 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 38 additional deaths on Wednesday.


Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health said the new cases were identified following the completion of 8,600 tests.


Dr. Hinshaw further added that 1,027 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 236 people being treated in Intensive Care Unit.


According to Dr. Hinshaw, 73.4% of the 791 non-ICU patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, while 91% of 226 ICU patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.


Meanwhile, Dr. Hinshaw, said “I’d like to remind everyone that we all have the ability to take small actions every day that will benefit our communities. The most important thing we can do is to get vaccinated, and stay home if we’re feeling even a little bit unwell. “

The Alberta Health on Tuesday reported 606 cases of COVID-19 over a 24-hour period.
