The Toronto Police announced Saturday that they have arrested and charged a man in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old man who was shot dead last month.
The officers arrested Zachary Barton, 36, of Toronto, on Friday in connection with the murder of Adrian Hurley, 23, of Toronto, the Toronto Police said in a statement.
The statement further added Barton has been charged with first degree murder and attended court on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 10 a.m., at Old City Hall court, room 112.
According to Toronto Police, a post mortem examination conducted on Saturday, August 28, 2021, determined the cause of death of Hurley to be gunshots.
The police officers located the victim after responding to a call for a medical complaint in the Thirty Ninth Street and James Street area at 6:07 a.m., on August 27, 2021.
