Canada will receive more than two million doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine each week until the end of August.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed Friday that that Canada will receive more than 2 million doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine every week until the end of August.
“Following our shipments this month, that means we’ll have more than 9 million doses arriving in July, and another 9.1 million doses arriving in August,” Trudeau said
He also added that negotiations have also taken place for another 3 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine to be delivered in September.
“We’ll keep working to secure shipments until everyone can get their shots. Right now, among G20 countries, Canada has the highest percentage of the population with a first shot.” he said, adding that “That’s right where we want to be – because the more people who are vaccinated, the safer we all are and the closer we all get to being through this crisis.”
This comes as Canada received its largest single shipment of Pfizer – 2.5 million doses of vaccine on Thursday.
Canada has administered around 25 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines so far as efforts are underway to administer more vaccines by the end of this month.
