The Health Canada reported more than 4,500 new cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours.
According to the latest COVID-19 daily epidemiology update released by Health Canada and Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), over 33,592,273 COVID-19 tests were performed in Canada or 883,885 tests per 1 million people.
The tests returned with 4.1% were positivity rate with Ontario reporting the most number of cases (2,170) over the period.
British Columbia reported 424 new cases, Alberta 721, Saskatchewan 178, Manitoba 430, Quebec 551, Newfoundland and Labrador 10, New Brunswick 10, Nova Scotia 91, Prince Edward Island 1 while Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut reporting no new cases.
Meanwhile, British Columbia reported 14 new deaths, Alberta 5, Saskatchewan 2, Manitoba 1, Ontario 4, Quebec 8, and Nova Scotia 1 new death.
The other provinces and territories reported no new deaths during the period, according to Health Canada and Public Health Agency of Canada.
