Alberta reports over 400 new COVID-19 cases on Friday

Alberta is reporting over 400 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and two additional deaths due to the virus over a 24-hour period.

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health said the health authorities identified 412 new cases by completing 8,700 tests across the province.

According to Dr. Deena Hinshaw, 496 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Alberta as of Friday, November 19, 2021.

Dr. Hinshaw further added that 72.7% of non-ICU COVID-19 patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

She also added that 80.7% of 93 ICU patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

“Sadly, 2 new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported to Alberta Health in the last 24 hours,” Dr. Hinshaw said.

The Alberta Health on Thursday reported 383 cases of COVID-19 and five additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
