Alberta on Monday reported 60 new positive cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours.
“Over the last 24hrs we have identified 60 new cases and completed about 2.8K tests. Our positivity rate is 1.8%.,” Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health said.
Dr. Hinshaw further added that Alberta Health also identified 33 new cases of the Variants of Concern during the period.
According to Dr. Hinshaw, there are 214 people in hospital being treated for COVID-19 virus and 56 of them are in the Critical Intensive Care Unit.
In regards to the COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, Dr. Hinshaw said “Sadly, I must also report 2 new deaths over the past 24hrs. My condolences go to their family, friends and anyone mourning a loved one today.”
