Alberta reports 22 deaths, over 4,600 new COVID-19 cases over a 3-day period

The Alberta Health Services reported 22 additional deaths and over 4,600 new COVID-19 cases over a period of three days.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, said the Alberta Health identified 1,436 new cases by completing 13,400 tests in the last 24 hours.

Furthermore, Dr. Hinshaw said the Alberta Health identified 1,529 new cases on 18th September and 1,605 cases on 17th September.

“Sadly, 22 new deaths related to COVID-19 were also reported to Alberta Health over the past 3 days,” she added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hinshaw said there are 954 people in hospital due to COVID-19, including 216 people in Intensive Care Units.

According to Dr. Hinshaw, 79.1% of the non-ICU patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated while 91.2$ in ICU are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.
