Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, said the Alberta Health identified 2,020 new cases by completing 17,300 tests in the last 24 hours.

According to Hinshaw, there are now 911 people in hospital due to COVID-19, including 215 people who are being treated in Intensive Care Units.

Dr. Hinshaw further added that 73.2% of the 696 non-ICU patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, while 93% of the people being treated in ICU, are are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

She also added 18 new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported to Alberta Health in the last 24 hours.
