Alberta and British Columbia on Thursday reported 2,140 new cases COVID-19 and 11 additional deaths in last 24 hours.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, said Alberta identified 1,339 new cases of COVID-19 by completing 12,400 tests over the past 24 hours.
According to Dr. Hinshaw, 5 additional deaths were also reported to Alberta Health in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the Government of British Columbia, in a statement said “B.C. is reporting 801 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 167,654 cases in the province.”
The statement further added that there are 5,931 active cases of COVID-19 in the province and 159,560 people who tested positive have recovered. “Of the active cases, 199 individuals are in hospital and 116 are in intensive care.”
Furthermore, the Government of B.C. said in the past 24 hours, six new deaths (Interior Health) have been reported, for an overall total of 1,824.
